Science.

Why do Christians claim that the creation story in the Bible is real? I've never heard of one Christian call it what it really is, which is a theory. Yes, evolution is a theory, but so is the story found in Genesis. The only difference in the two is one claims that's it's not a theory and the other admits it is. What I find amusing, is that there Creation Science. When I first heard this, I thought it had something to do with evolution. Then I started looking into it. Boy, was I surprised! I found a web site that says that evidence for the evolution theory isn't correct is in the Bible. Simply because the Bible says so.
Now, I have a few problems with this. If what the Bible says is true, then there should be evidence outside of the Bible to verify it. Evolution is just a theory, but there are things called fossils that show us a part of what things were like. The Bible, even though some don't agree, is also just a theory. The only thing the Bible doesn't have that our science books do is the evidence, like fossils. There should be millions of human fossils from The Great Flood that is claimed to have covered the whole world. There are not. There have been claims, but none have been recorded.
I wouldn't find this to be a big problem, but schools are teaching that the Bible is fact with no evidence, and teaching that evolution is only a theory while there is evidence to back up it's claim. They are teaching the Bible's version of creation in science class. The problem with this is that the Bible is not a science book and therefore should not be treated as such. Science is something that has been proven, there is evidence to verify it. You can see it, touch it, and read about the process that was taken to determine the outcome of the study that took place. The Bible doesn't give us any of this. It only says that God spoke and it magically appeared.
Evidence
Noun ~ that which tends to prove or disprove something; ground for belief; proof.
Verb ~ that which tends to prove or disprove something; ground for belief; proof.
Idiom ~in evidence, plainly visible; conspicuous.
Do I think the Bible should be taken out of the school. No, I don't. It is part of history and should be treated as history book. I do believe that it tells the events of Israelites. I believe it because there are writings that show that the people existed. We learn about the other gods from the past and don't claim that they made humans, like the people of those times did, we shouldn't claim that this god did. I think he should be taught, but it should not be taught as science. It should be taught as a part of our history. Just because we don't know the answer to something we don't turn around and claim it was magic. Which is pretty much what the Bible says.
