I have been told that I hate God. I can't understand why people say this to me. Not believing in something and hating something are two different emotional actions. I think it would take too much time and energy to hate something I don't believe is real. How many adults hate Santa? Why do people not hate Santa? Because they don't believe him to be real. It's the same thing here. I don't hate something that I don't believe is real. I just can't. I don't see how anyone can hate something they don't believe is real.
Then I've been told that I hate Jesus. I don't think he is real either. I don't believe a person can heal another simply by touching them and saying a few words. If that could be done, there would be no cancer, aids, HIV, heart problems, etc. There would be no need for doctors. There are, in fact, not enough doctors to keep up with today's illnesses. Some illnesses are starting to make a comeback because the medicine they used to keep it at bay or no longer working. They are no longer working because the virus is evolving. But that's something that few believe in. Evolving cells, how silly!
I've been told I hate Christians. This is also untrue. I don't hate Christians. Why? Because they are real and some actually try to be good people. I married a Christian. He is one of the sweetest people I know (don't tell him) and hope to spend the rest of my life with him. My father is a Christian and a damn good man. My grandfather was a Christian and probably the best man I ever knew or will ever know.
Then I hate religions. This would be incorrect as well. I don't hate religion. I have a few problems with some of religion's rules, but I don't hate it. However, I do dislike some of the actions that some, not all, religious people do in the name of their religion. Just because a person discriminates someone else in the name of their religion doesn't make it any less wrong.
Hate ~ to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward.
So, I've come to the conclusion that maybe they don't know the meaning of the word. They all claim not to hate, but some of their actions prove otherwise. Take Bill O'Reilly, just as an example. He will have guests on his show that don't share his views, all talk shows do. When they begin to say something he doesn't like, he begins to yell at then and rarely lets them talk at all. If people have to speak over someone else just to be heard, then why call it a talk show? If you're going to be the only one speaking, you should give it a different name. Instead of calling it a talk show, call it a "You sit a be silent while I speak" show.
