Good Christian morals.

So, I was told yesterday that I didn't have any morals. That I couldn't have any morals because I didn't believe what the Bible says. Spooky! I was told that a person that doesn't believe in his god couldn't have morals. My response was why. He then informed me that it was the Bible that gave people their morals. That a person who didn't believe in the word of God couldn't have morals because they didn't believe in his god. Then I asked him if he read the Bible and what the Bible (God) finds acceptable. He said yes, but I really don't think he's read the whole book. Or at least the Old Testament. So, I would like to take this time to remind those what the Bible really says and you decide how moral it is.

Slavery.
The Bible says you can own slaves. It even says that you can beat your slaves as long as you don't kill them and they are able to word in two days. It tells you how to sell your daughter. It also says that a female slave will not be allowed freedom like male slaves can. Does this sound like a good moral value? Does this sound like something a person would do if they had good moral values? I didn't think so.

Murder.
The Bible says that you are to kill anyone that doesn't worship or believe in God. It says that you are to kill all homosexual males. It says that you are to kill those that work on the Sabbath. It says that you are to kill witches. It says that you are to kill your son should he rebel. Does this sound like a good morals to you? Is this something a person would do if they had good moral values? Didn't think so.

Stealing.
The Bible says that you are destroy all cities around you if the people in that city if they don't worship your god. Not only are you to kill all of the people in that city, including children, you are to take their things and burn them.

Rape.
The Bible perfectly okay with a man raping a woman as long as she isn't suppose to be married to another man. Only if the woman is to be married does the man have to be punished. Before you start dancing with joy, I should tell you that the woman is also to be killed. She is another's man property and she's been defiled so she must also die with her attacker. If the man rapes a woman and she's not suppose to marry, her attacker pays money to her father and is forced to marry her attacker with no hope of a divorce.

This are the morals that I am suppose to be ashamed that I do not have. I'm sorry, I just can't be ashamed for not supporting these cruel and horrific things. I just can't bring myself to do any of these things. And neither can most Christians, yet they claim to live by this book. They say this is where they get their morals from. Are they aware of the things in the book they hold so highly? Shouldn't they know their good moral book says?
