God created what?

Day 1, God made the light and the dark. ~ There's no stars.
Day 2, God made the water and the sky separate. ~ Still no stars.
Day 3, God made land and plants. ~ Still no stars yet.
Day 4, God made the stars.
Day 5, God made animals.
Day 6, God made humans. (Both male and female.)

This is how the world came to be according to the Bible in the first chapter. Everything was made by one being and one being alone. There was nobody else there. It was only God and he made everything. All of this is in the first chapter of the Bible. (Which is a great book. Very interesting.) There are, however, some things that are...let's say odd, about the order of which these things came to be. Now, I have no doubt that animals came before humans, but plants need the light from the Sun to grow. Everything happened it just six days. Interesting.

Let's start with at the top. God made light before he made the stars. But let's say that this okay for a moment. God made plants before he made the stars. Now, you may not need the stars to separate it from the dark, you do need the stars to make plants grow. Without the light from the stars, you have no plants. The plants need the light from the stars to live.

Now, in the second chapter of the first book of the Bible, the humans were made before the animals. And male was made before the female at an earlier time. You can see how I find the orders of this a little odd. Because there's two different details of this one story. This is claimed to be historical fact. How can this be fact when there's two different accounts? This is suppose to be the word of the one true god. If this is the word of the one true god, why does this god give two accounts of this event?

In the first chapter of the Bible, God made both male and female from the dirt, on the same day. But in the second chapter, the female was made from the male's rib, not from the dirt like the first says. If the female was made with the male, what happen to that female when the second chapter started? Where did she go? Or did somebody get this story wrong. But if somebody got this story wrong, then that would mean that it wasn't spoken from their god.

In the first chapter of the Bible, animals were made before humans were. In the second chapter of the Bible, the male human was made before the animals. Then after the animals were made, the female human was made. That's right ladies, we ended up being made last. The bugs were made before us. Is that why most women don't like bugs? Getting back on topic, now. Why are these two accounts of the story so different? If this is the word of the one true god, that it came straight from him, the details of this story should remain the same throughout the book. Shouldn't it?

When people who have study those books they give you in that big building you parents sent you to for six hours a day, you'll see that those books keep the details the same from one book to the next. They don't change their story during or in another book. The facts stays the same. The history books don't change when you get to another person in history, but we are to believe this book, with all it's contradictions.

1) I don't believe this book because of the contradictions in it. In one book or chapter you'll read a story and in the next the details have changed. The story of creation, that is in the Bible, is a good example of that. To be fair, you can't expect the book to keep the details the same. There were many people writing this book. If there is more than one person writing a book, it will be hard to keep the stories straight. Which means, you don't get the original story. If you don't get the original story, then you can't expect it to be true.

2) There is no proof of any of this. I know, the big bang still has a ways to go before they'll figure it out, if they ever do. But the people that are studying the big bang admit that they're not sure. The people that believe the Bible, claim that they know without a shadow of a doubt. I don't see how a person can say that they know how the beginning of time when they were not there. When this book was wrote, it was generations after the first two humans were made. You can't give a detailed account on an event you were not present for.

3) The last reason I don't believe this book is because that there is too much evil done by this god. He kills the innocent, punishes the children because of their parent's bad deeds, and he tortures his the people who do worship him. And people claim this god is a loving, compassionate, fair, all powerful, and all knowing god. There are many events in the Bible where all of these titles are proven wrong. If I did want to worship a god, it wouldn't be this one.

  1. None of this stuff is new to Christian apologetics and they will eat you for breakfast if this is the sort of objection that you have to Genesis.

Just go to AIG or CARM and see how they respond.

Christianity has many, many, many holes in it - but you need to improve your game if you expect to stand up to them.
