Abortion

I've been hearing a lot of talk about abortion lately. I've heard people telling women that they shouldn't have one because it's wrong. One thing I don't see is people asking these women why they want one. Some want one because they've been raped, some want one because they can't care for the child because of an illness or they don't have the money to tend to a child, and some don't really want one at all.
I know two girls that didn't want it, but was pressured into it. One was forced into it by her mother and the school we went to, the other was pressured into by her boyfriend. It's one thing when the woman wants the abortion, but another when she's pressured into it by "god-fearing" people and then those same people give her hell because of it. That was the worst thing I had ever seen anyone do. That was the reason I read the Bible and in time became what I am now.
These people that don't you having an abortion are usually the same people that don't want sex education taught in schools. They must have forgotten what it was like being an teen. They must not know that times are harder now. They must think that because they have a book that tells them what to do, eveeryone should do as they do. They don't seem to care about the feelings or well being of the female going through this life changing whirlwind. They're not thinking about anyone other than themselves.
They don't think about what will happen after the fetus is born. What will happen to the child if the mother truely doesn't want it? Will she get over it? Learn to love the child? Or will she become depressed? Will take out her anger at the people that forced her to have the child on the poor child? If the child is beaten they may become angry and take it out on others. What if the child kills someone in their anger?
What if the female was raped? If you were raped, would you want to have your attacker's child? Isn't being raped enough pain for her to go through? What if the female will die if she doesn't have the abortion? What if the baby wouldn't make it through the delivery process? What if the female isn't mentally or physically able to care for a child?
These are things that people don't talk about when they're telling these women not to have abortions. They don't think past the now. There is adoption, but few kids get adopted. Most kids put up for adoption stay in foster homes till they reach 18 years old. These are the some of the things we need to think about when talking about abortions. What will happen the child is born and there's nobody around to help that child grow and be healthy in mind and body? Not everyone gets that special person to help them when things get tough.
I've also noticed that all of the pressure goes to the female and the male that helped the fetus get where it's at gets nothing said to them. I know males that have left when the woman they're with tells them they're pregnant. The woman is left all alone to get the torture these people dish out. I have yet to see the male get any of the looks and preachings the females get. She didn't get pregnant on her own.
If the woman has to have the child that she doesn't want, then the male should have to tend to the child when it's born. That won't work! This is still a man's world and the women are still fighting for the right to have control of our bodies.
(I know I haven't every case of these, so I'm just ranting about what I have seen.)

  1. Good points. What pisses me off is when these young women have these babies, for whatever reason, the baby gets ditched in some way or another, becomes a number in the system or worse. Adoption is an alternative, but pressure to keep and raise the child is stronger than ever these days. What has been bothering me lately is all the Rethuglicans talking about NOT having government insurance, but they want to tell women not to have abortions. Talk about govt getting involved!

In the case of my granddaughter, neither my son nor her mother were prepared to raise her...that's why I have her. People these days kill me.
