Talking but nothing happening.

I am so tired of Christian telling me that I have to respect their beliefs when they show no respect for mine. If you want someone to show respect for you, you must show them respect too. You can’t insult a person’s beliefs and then expect them to show yours the respect you think it deserves. It doesn’t work like that. You’re stupid if you think it does. If you can’t respect someone’s belief or lack of belief then you can’t go around demanding respect for your belief.
You don’t have to agree with a person to respect them. You don’t have to share the same belief to be friends with a person. You don’t have to insult their beliefs because they don’t match your own. Everyone is different and everyone should be treated the same even if they don’t think your view is the right one. We are all have the right to believe what we do, just like you have the right to believe in a god of some sort.
I get so tired of people telling me that I’m a bad person simply because I don’t believe in their god. Do you see me running around telling people that they are stupid because they believe in a being that can do anything with a thought in his head but can’t be seen? No, I don’t do that. I don’t do that because there are good people out there that believe in a god and don’t judge me for not believing in their god or any other god. We have respect for each other and don’t insult each other’s belief and we don’t push our beliefs on each other. That’s the way it should be.
That’s the way people should live. But that’s not the way it works all the time. There are people of the Christian faith that scream at the top of their lungs to Atheists and call them bad people and throw insults about evolution (most clearly don’t know what it is), then turn around and demand respect for their god and their religion. It doesn’t work like that!
Then you also have Atheist screaming at the top of their lungs saying that religious people are stupid and delusional and demand that their lack of belief be shown respect. It doesn’t work like that either! To get respect you must show respect.
Now, I do personally believe that people that have faith in a god are showing signs of being delusional. But I don’t blame them. Some people need to believe in a god to be a good person. I don’t need to fear hell or hope for heaven to be a good person, but some do. And it’s not that people believe in a god that makes me mad. It’s when a person is downright mean to another person and claim they must because of their religion. That’s what I have a problem with.
Just because your religion tells you to do these things don’t make it any less wrong. We have a law here that’s to prevent those kind of things, but those only come into play when religion says it must. Religion has taken over this great nation and we’re going downhill because it. We can’t be a nation of the Christian god and claim peace of any kind. The Christian god is cruel and commands the killing of most of the people in the world. Anyone that’s read the Bible can tell you this.

  1. I like the graphic, very good.

If you think you have that sort of issue with a theist then start the conversation more assertively.

"I'll respect you but not necessarily your opinions on faith matters."
